Frank and Ernest on the Road
Alexandra Day; Scholastic Inc. 1992
After Frank and Ernest offer to provide a service to small business owners, the bear and elephant undertake a job as long-distance truck drivers and learn the language, the lingo. Drivers have handles (nicknames), stop at bean stores (roadside restaurants) and follow the banana peel (the yellow stripe running down the middle of the road). Detailed watercolors enhance the story.
