I Was Dreaming to Come to America – Memories from the Ellis Island Oral History Project
This is a collection of memories of immigrants of when they first sailed into New York Harbor when they were children and began a new life. The memories are complemented by attractive collage illustrations on the page opposite the memories. The incentives that drew families to immigrate to America are sometimes directly expressed; in other cases, more information is included in their biographies in the supplemental material.
