Students could discuss the poem and their thoughts about each of the economic terms. They then could come up with their own surprising example of wants/needs or other term.
There are also several other poems in the book that would be fun for students to use – such as Overdues, which is about fines on an overdue library book. It would create great discussion about why fines are used and if they are effective.
