A little spider thinks how wonderful it would be to have a web of many colors. One day a bird drops a bit of red berry onto the little spider’s web. He takes a sip from the berry and finds that when he is spinning his web, it is threads of red. He discovers that he can do this with berries of other colors until finally he has a beautiful web of a multitude of colors. The little spider is proud of his accomplishment and sits on his web, waiting to catch a fly, realizing he hasn’t caught any in several days. He goes to his father for advice and learns that spiders catch their food because their webs are invisible. He has an incentive and a decision to make. The next day, the little spider spins a transparent web and triumphantly spins a little rainbow web in the corner, and catches a fly!
