Together in Pinecone Patch
This is the story of two families who immigrate to Pinecone Patch, PA. One family is from Ireland, the other Poland. In both cases, the incentive to come to the United States was to seek a better economic future. The natural resources in Pinecone were the coal mines, and the miners used capital resources and their own human capital to earn a living through mining. Although life was better in some respects in Pinecone Patch, the Irish and Polish neighborhoods distrusted each other until the Irish girl named Keara and the Polish young man Stefan brought change to Pinecone Patch.
