Where Does This Come From? Bubble Gum
This book traces the beginning of bubble gum beginning with chicle from the sapodilla tree in Mexico being used for the gum base and then processed to become chewing gum and bubble gum. Although natural ingredients were originally used in bubble gum, they have been replaced by synthetic ingredients like plastic and rubber. The illustrations provide good examples of capital resources such as storage tanks, silos, bins and machines. Corn syrup is an example of an intermediate good since after it is produced, it is added to the mixture for bubble gum, the final product.
