This is a brief biography of Patrick Henry tracing his progress from planter to statesman. He was a great orator and spoke long and often against King George and the taxes he had imposed on the people, as well as the restrictions put on trade. When the Revolution was starting, he gave his famous speech inciting the people with “give me liberty or give me death.” He served as governor of Virginia for five terms, but opposed the adoption of the constitution.
